![]() ![]() The driver door power window works well and the driver rear window also works good most of the time. I think that the only options that it has is the 429 V8 and power windows. I would say that this is a low optioned vehicle. This was always one of the cars on my bucket list but with nine cars right now this one does not get driven often so I am thinning the fleet. I have recently put a new fuel pump in the car along with points and ignition coil. The 429 V8, 360 horsepower has tons of power and that is one of the main reasons that I purchased the car along with the 4 doors. The Firestonetires are in good shape showing more than half tread remaining on them and they are whitewalls but for some reason the previous owner had the black walls on the outside, I would reverse them in my opinion. This bird drives effortlessly and is as smooth as can be going down the road, she also tracks nice and straight when driving with no pulling and also stops nice and straight. The transmission shifts nice and smooth with no noises etc. The motor runs great and it is nice and quiet. Both front door arm rests do have some wear, the passenger side showing the most with some small cracks and splits in the vinyl. The rear seat is like new and the driver seat does not show much wear at all. The interior I would rate as good condition and I think that the photos show the condition very well. I would rate the paint as fair due to being old and having multiple deficiencies such as scratches, minor dings and environmental damage. The car has been painted in the past and it looks like someone did an amateur restoration many years ago. ![]() The car comes with ownership documents and the dealership books/literature and build sheet from 1968. I have the paperwork fromJwhen the car was sold used at Anderson Ford just outside of Buffalo, NY. This is a very original unmolested car that runs and drives good down the road. That being said, the car was always garaged and that is obvious based on the condition of the car. This is a local car that has been in Western NY all of its life. This car is fun to drive and always has people scratching their heads because not many people realize that the Thunderbird had four doors for a couple years. Up for sale is my 68 T-Bird four door sedan. I think they were elegant.Description of 1968 Ford Thunderbird Four Door Laudauġ968 Ford Thunderbird 4 door (suicide door) 429 Thunder Jet 4bbl sedan with 70,000 original miles. Glad we can look back and laugh at ourselves now. So yes, they did make 4 doors, and they were gas eaters. By the time he got through scaring and badgering the hell out of us, we turned the car over to him for FREE, and I believe we even “thanked” him for “helping” us out of our dilemma. ![]() No brainer…we gotta sell this thing !!! But to WHO ? Finally my dear old dad (rest his soul) shows up at our house with a “friend” who’s a used car dealer and is willing to “help”. Odd, even days, long lines, outrageous price increases, and often enough you couldn’t buy a drop of gas no matter how much you were willing to pay. Anyway, we paid $800.00 for the T-bird, installed a $200.00 complete exhaust system and within weeks,…the “GAS SHORTAGE” hit. Small claims court judge awarded us $2.00 per week from this little SOB. It’s Spring 1973, married less than a year (struggling), and we found a 68 T-bird, 4 door, to replace my bride’s 66 Mustang which was hit and “totaled” by a 15 year old, “uninsured” motorist who took his grandmother’s car for a joy ride. If you want a clean T-bird, it may make sense to contact this owner. You are asked to make contact for additional details. The owner will show you the car by appointment only. We don’t know how often the car is started and/or driven. The owner does not let us know if this car is a driver. The present owner purchased this car in 1981 from the original owner, drove it home and parked it in the garage. This car is wearing the original factory paint. Is that the original spare sitting there? We don’t know and it isn’t mentioned in the ad. In the beautiful original red interior you have, power windows, a tilt steering-wheel, A/C, and the factory installed radio.Īll appears to be in order in the backseat as well. There is a 390 V-8 with an automatic transmission to power you along. This is one of the 37,422 which listed for $4,704 in ’67.Īccording to the seller this car has 38,000 actual certified miles in total. Listed here on craigslist Carbondale, Illinois is this “like new” 1967 Thunderbird Landau with a negotiable price of $14,900. This “T-Bird” has spend the last 34 years in the garage. ![]()
